REDDING, Calif. – April 27, 2016 – Redding Cancer Treatment Center is proud to announce the addition of Maja K. Sandberg M.D., F.A.C.S., to its facility. Dr. Sandberg is a Board Certified Surgeon whose specialty is breast surgery. She will be joining Vicki Philben, M.D., F.A.C.S., a Surgical Oncologist specializing in breast cancer surgery, and Matthew Allen, M.D., a Radiation Oncologist.
Dr. Sandberg earned both her bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. She went on to perform her residency in general surgery at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. She also completed a fellowship in vascular surgery.
“Dr. Sandberg is an accomplished surgeon and we are lucky to have her experience and skill set in this practice,” said Dr. Philben.
“Having Dr. Sandberg on board expands our ability to serve breast cancer patients in the North State. She will be a tremendous asset to our team,” adds Dr. Matthew Allen.
Dr. Sandberg is a member of the Cancer Committee and the Cancer Liaison Physician at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Medical Association, Association of Women Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Disease.
